Het architectonisch denken

En andere architectuurtheoretische opstellen

Liane Lefaivre, Alexander Tzonis

Het architectonisch denken, the first Dutch edition of Towards a Non-Oppressive Environment, was published in 1982. It has been reprinted several times since then, most recently at the beginning of the 1990s. The book was welcomed as an important contribution to historical research on architecture.

The history of architecture and architectural objects are no longer treated by the authors in isolation, but are placed and evaluated within the changing social context. This was the first attempt to investigate the conceptual system of architecture in relation to the specific social formation. Over the years Het architectonisch denken has proven its importance for the teaching of architecture.

About the authors: Alexander Tzonis is Professor Emeritus and held the chair of Architectural Theory and Design Methods at the Delft University of Technology. Liane Lefaivre is a member of the research staff of the Design Knowledge Systems group of the Faculty of Architecture at the same university.

Please note: This is the Dutch edition of this publication.
